About the Just Kids Show Project
We are currently trying to fill a big gap in our society by developing:
Kids Productions made by Kids - as in, designed, written, produced, hosted, marketed - by kids, not adults - we're talking about Children's Filmmaking Movies, Short Films (Objective: win a prize at Topfest Jr within 3 years) Internet TV, Cable TV (Objective: our own show on Foxtel Disney Playhouse Channel 709) Theatre Playgroups, and of course, e-publishing - starting with our online DIY kids magazine "JKS eZine". DIY because you can print it out yourself and put it together to make a Special Collectors Hardcopy Edition.

Our motto:
"We don't want to grow up watching, we want to produce!"
The Government - Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Federal and Morris Iemma - NSW State - are paying very little attention to this critically important area of our society. Why have Rupert Murdoch's Fox Studios in the middle of Sydney with all these tax breaks if it is not utilized by our education system. There should a clear career path for Australian children, encouraged and nurtured leading right from Kindergarten age to, for Sydney Kids, Newtown High School of Performing Arts, to Syndey International Film School utilizing Fox Studios along the way.
Maybe we need to shame them into making this a high priority issue in Federal Election '10.
Wouldn't it be great if we could get some of these leaders of our society to do the right thing.
Already Tara has received amazing original correspondence from a then 96 year old Dame Elisabeth Murdoch which she typed out herself on her trusty typewriter, we would love to get a bunch of us families together, and take a bus down to see her at Cruden Farm, Melbourne, and ask her to give her son a ring. Rupert does a lot of great things but this is one area he has overlooked, especially when he currently has preschoolers himself, Grace and Chloe. But of course they are born into privilege. But privilege made possible in the early days by Aussie Battler families buying Murdoch newspapers.

Tara and her Dad's Great Australians Project.
Starting with Keith Murdoch.
Their son is Rupert Murdoch,
the most influential media
guy on the planet - he owns
Fox TV, Studios, magazines,
newspapers. And they are of
course Australia's richest
family.

So a basic objective is to detour our children at an early age away from the billion dollar advertising campaigns which turn our kids into "users / sheep" rather than "creators / orgnanizers" - film-making, not film-watching.

Anyway, things that may help the project get off the ground are:
- Duh! Sponsorship from Sony of course, especially since Tara's Dad (Pete ) lived in Japan for many year.

A Little Cultural History
The Kings Cross area (i.e. not just all the negative elements of the Cross - and who knows maybe one day this could be a forerunner for helping to save more kids from the system). For the real Kings Cross go to the local library and check out entertainment history in Sydney, biographies of great Australian actors like Peter Finch. Take a walk along the back streets off Macleay Street and the old converted theatre buildings. Kings Cross Online is a key to our longevity.
Don't forget the Cross is just a very small area around Darlinghurst Road, the surrounding suburbs, within 50 metres, are very upmarket, and include, Elizabeth Bay, Rushcutters Bay, St Vincent's Girls College Potts Point (the schoolgirls use the back entrance to Kings Cross Station via Victoria Street) etc.
And now just down the road at Moore Park we have Fox Studios.
That's about it for now, watch this space for further developments. In the meantime, send in your suggestions.
