Is Kogarah Council more corrupt than Wollongong?
|
Should Mayor Nick Katris be next on ICAC's list for
pork barrelling his Greek Clique?
|
How long will it take for Premier Morris Iemma to do something?
Or if he hopes no-one will pick up on another Council scandal,
do we have to bring it to the attention of ICAC ourselves?

Whose ABC??
|
|
Kerry O'Brien - ABC Radio National - Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Dear old, old, Kerry - "The Man" - now pushing 67 - dictatorship over 7.30 Report for 13 years - they reckon Howard stayed to long in the job!; Mark Colvin; "4 Corners"; Marck Scott (Does Mr 'Inaccessible' aka Managing Director of the people's broadcaster... do they have an obligation to air all the fair dinkum stories?). Richard Aedy - Life Matters actually comes across as the only fair dinkum caring ABC presenter they have, so we thought in vain we would empirically test his FDness...
Fair dinkum, we think the Government should add a clause to the ABC's charter - something like, they are to have an independent board who reviews every single letter sent to the ABC by Australian citizens, and such a board shall come to a decision as to whether or not it will be aired, say at 7:50pm Thursday nights - a new People's Segment to be called "Fair Dinkum Citizen Concerns" - issues that they rate 5 stars in importance to our society. Yes, Kerry has to give up 10 minutes for the plebes. Then citizens like us, get to say, "Here's a new Town Square, and it's got a religious building, at one end, of one particular ethnic group, in a multicultural demographic, and the same ethnic group as the last 2 Mayors of Kogarah Council; at the other end, here's this expensive library with..., there's blatant pork barrelling everywhere, even worse than Wollongong COuncil, etc., etc."

Albert Martinez - The Editor - The Leader (local Fairfax owned newspaper) - RD25937214 - PO Box 1110 Rockdale NSW 2216 - amartinez@fairfax.com.au - If you do a feature story wondering why the Kogarah Town Centre (above the station) is dying, as well as shops in the main street, including the Greekarah end - wouldn't you then 'follow the money' - despite the new Kogarah Square apartment complex housing so many of them ...well, where do they shop, anyway...?

An Open Letter to
Prime Minister
Kevin Rudd
from a 5 year old Kindergarten student and her father
by Platinum Express ZW573352, email, websites like ours,
newspapers, and anyone else who wants to spread the meme!
Re: Your Education Revolution and Our Vision:
Botany Bay Primary School of Creative and Visual Arts
13 March 12008
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd
Parliament House
Canberra ACT 2600
Dear Prime Minister Rudd
A National Motto for our Children:
"Please, Prime Minister Rudd, we
don’t want to grow up watching DVDs,
we want to produce them!"
Botany Bay Primary School of Creative Arts =>
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's "Education Revolution" =>
Just Kids Internet TV Show => Sony Sponsorship =>
Fox Studios => Tropfest Jr =>
Newtown High School of Performing Arts =>
NSW Film School et al => The Oscars!
Sir, in your election campaign you talked about your "Education Revolution" - the only thing any parent remembers is laptops and broadband for high school students - our first thought was put succinctly by a mother interviewed at the time on the 6 O’Clock News. She said "Everytime I walk into his room he slams the laptop shut". In other words, if you are not careful to get ‘the horse before the cart’, you will inadvertently end up having the opposite effect, worsening the national child addiction to download entertainment, to be eternal users instead of producers.
And you haven’t really mentioned anything of vision for primary schools, at all.
We are being forgotten. Especially in overcrowded districts like ours.
Five year old Tara started kindergarten at Carlton Public School - 20 minutes south of Sydney City (Mr McClelland’s 'former' electorate, after her father defeats him in early ’10). At 948 students Carlton is the 3rd largest primary school in NSW - the biggest is not out in the western suburbs, it’s 500 metres away at Hurstville Public School with 1200. [Ended up transferring Tara to Darlinghurst Public School - what is referred to as a "Boutique Public School" - total enrolled students = 130, less than Carlton Kindergarten's seven classes 143!]
The population continues to explode. For decades State and Local council executives of Kogarah, Rockdale, Hurstville... have done their Wollongong-esque thing with developers - resulting in apartments with young families everywhere, but totally neglecting the need for a new primary school in the area.
They have their usual excuse, like where would you build it? There’s no space...
If they could think outside the box for a change, there’s actually unlimited space in the area - on top of the railway line, adjoining the existing ‘above station’ complex at Kogarah. And that would significantly minimize transport worries right from the start - get off the train and you are there.
So we need not just a quick fix. We need a solution with vision.
Not just an extra primary school with the same old general approach to K-6 education, but a setup that will grab our kids before the entertainment marketers take them over.
In short, we badly need "Botany Bay Primary School of Creative and Visual Arts" (BBPSCA).
As mentioned, to be located at Kogarah Station. It would be a stepping stone to Tropfest Jr, Fox Studios, Newtown High School of Performing Arts, and then onto NSW Film School, et al, and ultimately The Oscars!
Click the link at: here for Tara’s own plea on behalf of her Kindergarten generation.
"Prime Minister Rudd, I don’t want to grow up
watching DVDs, I want to produce them!"
She would gladly like to deliver her plea personally in your office at Parliament House Canberra anytime you can find 60 seconds for a 5 year old Kindergarten student in your busy schedule.
And at the same time she would like to invite you personally to Carlton Public School’s Monday School Assembly on 30/6/08, the day after the official 90th Anniversary of the school, to announce your government’s support for our vision, as a paragon of what you are trying to do with your Education Revolution, but at the K-6 level. Such an announcement would help us garner private sector supplemental funding and sponsorship, especially from famous equipment manufacturers like Sony.
Existing primary schools like Carlton could also reincarnate themselves by at least developing effective Filmmaking programs with such leadership.
Please Prime Minister Rudd, 7 years of extra-curricular subjects like Indonesian (and on that point why can’t we at least have a choice, Mandarin like you did, or Japanese - Peter, Tara’s father, lived in Japan in the 90s - he would teach us for free.), chess, choir, ballet, drum club, etc. It just won’t help this generation compete with children in other advanced nations in Europe, Japan, the U.S... By the time they hit high school it will be too late to change the ‘user’ mentality.
Every Tuesday Tara has to get up in front of her Kindergarten class (KC) and give a speech on something significant that she has done - it would be awesome to tell them about her meeting with the Prime Minister of our country.
Sincerely
Peter & Tara Hogan

We also sent a copy of our open letter to relevant fine upstanding leaders of our society. Are any of them interested in getting behind a project that will be more effective than anything currently in the system in doing something concrete to wean our children off the 'user' addiction?
"My Education Revolution and K-6? Ahh..."

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Platinum Express ZW573352. Parliament House Canberra ACT 2600. Kevin.Rudd.MP@aph.gov.au
What has he got in his "Education Revolution" for our Primary Schools that compares to our initiative? Answer: free broadband surfing, computer games, DVD downloads - aka heroin, for every Australian child... Just great Mr Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Rudd (and his personally select staff) did not have the common courtesy to reply to a 5 year old - must be his upbringing - what a role model for our children:

Nick Katris - The Mayor - Kogarah Council - by Registered Post RD25937217.
Locked Bag 8, Kogarah NSW 2217. kmcmail@kogarah.nsw.gov.au
In stark comparison, Mr Katris and his Greek Clique are prepared to divert a large chunk of rate payer money to glorifying themselves - check out our "Greekarah" exposé.

Julia Gillard - Federal Minister for Education - RD25937215. Parliament House Canberra ACT 2600. Julia.Gillard.MP@aph.gov.au - No wonder we don't expect anything from her - Ms Gillard simply could not empathize with what we are talking about.

If he does nothing else he should get ICAC to have a very close look at the way Kogarah Council allocates money to any project within cooee of the monument to their Greek Clique - much more blatant than Wollongong Council.

Listed above are some of those who have been 'prodded on the shoulder' so far - their lack of prompt and effective support, starting with our new Prime Minister, is unequivocal, empirical, unadulterated proof that they are not fair dinkum Australians...
