Check out how disorganized the Brack's Victorian government is in the way it tries to dodge tangible recognition for Keith Murdoch, Melbourne's favourite son - remember due to the subject matter there is little doubt that Bracks is aware of the issue, scapegoating staff just won't wash with historians in the future:
1) In the 24 Feb '05 letter Keith Murdoch is dumped with the Department of Victorian Communities 2) Then in their 24 March '05 email (after we reminded them that it's hairy to ignore the Murdochs) Dept of Communities was an error, they try to flick pass Keith Murdoch as a "Commonwealth State responsibility" So after we approach the Prime Minister who duly tries to reverse flick the whole Keith Murdoch thing back as a State matter away from any of his responsibility... 3) We have the jumbled 4 May '05 letter - they've forgotten the previous correspondence, and it's now back to a Victorian State responsibility - Keith Murdoch is going to Tourism, but amazingly by the end of the same paragraph Keith Murdoch ends up with the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development. The only thing more ludicrous than all that is that the Opposition Leader Robert Doyle doesn't use it. |
