Dear Peter and Tara,

Thanks so much for your most interesting idea. It's heartening to know people like yourselves are devoting time and energy to such initiatives.
Having read your correspondence, its attachments and, of course, many thousands of words about the life of Sir Keith Murdoch, I fully support your idea.
As mentioned in one letter regarding the recent biography, I also fear that I might be seen to be biased in mounting such a campaign.
I'm prepared to do whatever is necessary, behind the scenes, to secure a renaming of Tullamarine in Sir Kieth's honour.
But I need to think carefully before undertaking a serious campaign within the newspaper, given our proprietorial connections.
However committed we might be, it would certainly be viewed cynically in many circles.
I doubt a Herald Sun appeal to change the name would carry as much weight as, say, another non-aligned media outlet. I don't mean to dodge the issue, but a serious campaign by us is probably not appropriate. I'll keep thinking about it.
Best of luck with the campaign and thanks for bringing the idea to my attention.
kind regards, Peter Blunden.
